The Dream Fund is a registered Canadian charity that makes the dreams of critically ill children in Newfoundland and Labrador come true. Started by William Short of Marystown at the age of 14, The Dream Fund (formerly the Short Circuit Dream Fund) was designed to make a difference — if only small — in the lives of sick children across Newfoundland & Labrador. Now in operation for over six years, we’ve changed the lives of more than 20 families in ways we never thought possible.
Every time we make a dream come true, there is a critically ill child with a smile on their face, a tremendous amount of joy, and something of their dreams to look forward to. Everyone has dreams, hopes for the future — for when they grow up. It is important for us to understand that these children have dreams that can come true now. Some of them may not live long enough to become adults — to achieve their life goals — their dreams.
Mission Statement: The Dream Fund will serve the residents of Newfoundland and Labrador and its indigenous areas by raising money for and granting the dreams of critically ill children aged 0-18, inclusive, based on financial need.
Ways to Give: We currently accept online donations as well as cash, cheque, and money order. Cheques and money orders should be made payable to “The Dream Fund”. Donations may be mailed to: The Dream Fund, P.O. Box 1340, Marystown, Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada, A0E 2M0.
